The City will begin loose paint removal on primarily the north outside wall in early December. This paint removal prior to freeze/thaw cycles begins a new experiment in moisture retention. Our hope is that the moisture levels drop both inside and outside of the house after the paint removal. We have taken current moisture readings and will make periodic measurements over the winter. These data will provide valuable information in determining the next steps. Meanwhile, we have big plans for this property in the upcoming 250/150 celebrations next year.

Loose paint reveals brick underneath. Removing these peeling areas will allow brick to breathe and dry out.
